Small Equipment. Structured Progression. Long-Term Capacity.
At Dorset Physio, our Performance Maintenance Pilates class is designed for people who already move — and want to keep moving well.
This is not a beginner class.
And it’s not high-intensity conditioning.
It sits deliberately between rehabilitation and mainstream gym training.
The goal is simple:
Maintain capacity.
Maintain control.
Maintain resilience.
Why Performance Maintenance Matters
Most injuries don’t happen because people are unfit.
They happen because load exceeds capacity.
Capacity changes over time — with age, work demands, sport, stress and previous injury.
This class is designed to quietly build and maintain that capacity so you can continue:
Training
Working
Playing sport
Living actively
Without repeatedly flaring up old problems.
How We Train

We use small equipment — resistance bands, gymballs, foam rollers, and hand weights — to progressively increase demand in a controlled way.
This allows us to:
Improve joint stability under load
Develop strength endurance
Challenge coordination and balance
Support tendon health
Maintain shoulder and hip function
Reinforce movement efficiency
The emphasis is quality.
You will work with intent, not speed.
Who This Is For

Men and women who:
Already exercise
Have previous injuries now stable
Want to maintain performance
Prefer structured progression over chaotic workouts
Value technical feedback
You should feel comfortable getting up and down from the floor and maintaining steady effort.
This is capable training for capable people.
The Longevity Model
Performance Maintenance is one part of our wider longevity framework at Dorset Physio.
We believe sustainable performance requires:
Intelligent loading
Consistent progression
Technical control
Regular review
This class provides that foundation.
For some, it becomes ongoing maintenance.
For others, it acts as a bridge into higher-level gym classes within Zone Fitness.
Either way, the objective remains the same:
Protect performance long term.
